Broken spring hanger

I have a broken, farthest to rear spring hanger on the drivers side. My questions are, where is the best place to buy a new one? Has anyone ever changed one, and what is involved? Any help would be appreciated.

Bump one more time. My rear leaf spring is sitting on the underneath of the bed and I can't drive it. Anyone ever change the spring hanger on a O.B.S?

I had to take it apart when I did leaf springs. There is not much to it. As far as replacing it I am fairly certain it will be a dealer only part.

Once you have jacked up the truck and removed the spring eye bolt you will see that the hanger is riveted to the frame. Cut off the rivet heads using a torch or air tool etc then using a punch drive out the rivets. The hanger will now be loose. The new or repaired hanger can now be installed using nuts and bolts.
The hangers are i think a dealer item.
Cheers.
Brian.

Son broke the same hanger on His '93 F-150 Lightning about 6 months ago....it's a common enough problem the local dealer had them in stock. Rust takes a toll on these trucks in places You wouldn't expect!

Thanks guys...Yes it is a dealer only part and they did have them in stock. About 70 dollars a piece. I have a project to do now. Thanks for the info, I was unsure about the rivets. I will buy hardened bolts and get to work. The other one is cracked so I am going to do both. Thanks again
