Brown Fuel?????

My truck has been running bad for a few days. I changed my air and fuel filter today. As I was draining the bowl I looked at the fuel and it was brown. I put some in a clear bottle and it was dark and looks awful. Any ideas on the brown fuel?

Re: Brown Fuel?????

If that's what your fuel looks like you need to use a bicide additive
to kill microbial growth.
Like this.
http://www.dieselcraft.com/productinfo_14.html
Go to a marine supply. They will have it.
I have used the one above with good results.

Re: Brown Fuel?????

I do have a great Bio-cide but this tank of fuel is new and I think I just got bad fuel. I think I am going to try to just run it most of the way out add Power Service and Biobor and hopefully that will clear it up. One tank is full of that crap and the other tank was only topped off. I have been running the mostly good tank and it is starting to clear up. I hope this doesn't hurt anything. I called the shop that sells the fuel cleaning machines and they said bad fuel is going around like the Flu. They also said it will only get worse with the ULSD.

Re: Brown Fuel?????

Dont matter one tank is all you need and you have to go in a kill it or it just grows. The only thing that going to get hurt is the little animals in your tank. The party's over. The BIOBOR is good stuff. Give both tanks a shock treatment. Then do 1 or 2 maintenance treatments. That should clear it up. And maybe a filter change if needed.
I do one shock treatment every year before filter change.
My truck is fine.
Its my house thats a problem.

Re: Brown Fuel?????

Thanks for the help. I am definitely going to treat it as soon as I can add some fuel to the tank to mix it.
