Angry A/C Hose Problem!

All right. Thirteen years and it finally quit blowing cold air. Who can complain? I added more freon but the connector on the high pressure hose is the leak. There is no Schrader valve. Just a stupid POS ball valve. You can't change this! Is there a fix anybody has short of replacing the whole hose assembly? I mean that also means a new drier, vaccum and may as well do the expansion valve while I'm in there! Couple of hundred bucks out the window for this little leak. Thankfully I have freon. Anybody's help would be most appreciated!

for an a/c system that has never been touched it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to change out the accumulator ( I think the ford trucks have an accumulator rather than a receiver/dryer, also i think the ford trucks have an orifice tube rather than an expansion valve ). not that anyone actually does it but i think most manufacturers recommend replacing the accumulator every couple years. you could possibly check out a thermo-king dealership or any other place that specializes in a/c work and they might be able to hook you up without having to replace the hose.
