the 236 code is for the map sensor.

the map sensor is on the passenger side of the firewall. It has the vacumn hose going to it from the intake manifold.

Is the map sensor probaly the problem? Checked the vacuum hose it was not clogged. Like I said my overdrive light is flashing and the truck shifts really hard. It seems like it is using more gas.

Had another mechanic scan it. Came up with codes p0236,p0237 and p01728 witch is a trans shift malfunction. Taking it back to the transmission shop. The truck shifts hard from first to second and the overdrive light is blinking. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.

I had a bad barometic pressure sensor. It caused the same type of symtoms. OD light flashing and hard shifts.
