Cold Start ONLY fine after warm up

95 F250 4x4 with block heater plugged in. It is cold here (19) I know that isnt ARTIC but cold none the less. When I go to start it up, it fires for a second or two then dies. Glow Pugs are working (I watch the voltage indicator and the volts go back up after the 2 minutes the GP's are on) I have the problem when I have it plugged in or not. It will fire if I press the accel pedal but that is it. I have to press the pedal about 30 seconds for the rough idle to go away then it levels out and is fine. Weird to me, is that after it is warmed up (if i drive it for 10 mintues or so) and turn it off, it starts right back up no problem. I have been reading the different posts and I am trying to order the CPS from International but they are giving me a hard time. They say #1807339C92 (from another post by FASTREPOMAN) wont work because that sensor is for a 6 cyl engine and I have the 8. They want my engine serial number but I cant find it to save my life. Anything else you can think of? Thanks

Re: Cold Start ONLY fine after warm up

The blue cps is from a 6cyl, the 466, that doesn't matter, it reads the exciter ring on the cam, doesn't care if it is 1 cyl or 50, just reads the pulse, the consenses here though is that it retards your timing, not what you need anyway, and cps should have nothing to do with this.....

Any idea what it could be? Bad Glow Plugs maybe?

I think you anwsered your own question. It sounds like you have 2 or 3 bad plugs.

Like he already said, check out the gp system, relay for voltage drop, battery to relay for drop, ohm out the plugs, sorry I forgot about that parta the post hehe. Your block heater should defanitely make a difference, but its still not gonna be like starting a hot engine.
