cracked block or freeze plug

I just bought another 97 tonight! it would appear that anti-freeze is leaking from the starter area anyone have an idea? is there a freeze plug there? maybe next weekend i can get a better look just thought i would through it out there see what you all had to offer!

One of the block drains in right behind/above the starter. You might look at it. Cheers!

It'll be an NPT plug that can be removed to drain the block (1 on each side of the motor). Cheers!

cracked block or freeze plug?

I have the exact same problem on my 7.3. Did you ever find the cause or anyone with some advise. I have the same symptoms. Thank you brice

I wont be checking in to my problem until spring probably due to the work i am doing to my Crew cab! When i do find out i will let you know and hope you will do the same for me! good luck

The leak was a freeze plug someone repaired with a rubber on that was in backwards! fixed that but still have a hair line crack! added some stuff to the anti-freeze and it hasent leaked yet! im happy 97 PSD w/5speed $1,500!
