There is a module behind the radiator support that runs them. You will have to replace it with a NON DRL modula. Easiest way is to offer to trade someone that wants DRL's. The module is plug and play.

To get rid of your DRL, you need to unplug the DRL Module up behind the left head light and bumper, then plug in a shunting cap, click on the link's below and you can see the shunting cap and the Module, if you want to trade your module for my shunting cap I will send you my cap and you send me your module, then you will no longer have DRL.

Curious as to why day time running lights are an issue? They are a safety measure that is mandatory on vehicles all over the world as they have proven to improve secondary vehicle visability (others seeing you with the DRL) and reduce accidents.
Not sure I see why they are something one would volentarily want to get rid of?

Pain in the backside when sitting at night with truck running. Or starting it up in the morning....used to shine right into bedroom. Not anymore.......they are gone!!!!
Mine go out with the E-brake depressed. When I 'sneak' in after hours and I don't want lights to hit the wife in the bean through the window I just slightly depress the E-brake.
Unfortionatley the 7.3 is not the quietest of engines so I'm usually busted but I figure the effort may be a point breaker between bed or couch.

I have mine disconnected, too. I always drive with my running lights on, so I'm quite visible, I just prefer having the choice as to which lights are lit.

When I park my truck in the back driveway they shine in the windows and it wakes up the wife and kids. They are used to the engine noise.
