Re: E4OD auto mileage vs. ZF-5??????????????

I can't believe the variance in fuel economy.
I've gotten a best of 19mpg on the highway running 65mph with stock tires and an electric fan, and I have a 5 speed with 4.10 gears.
I get 15 around town / combined including some towing for short distances.
I think the electric fan makes a huge difference, that and the fact that I rarely spin the engine over 2500rpm.

Re: E4OD auto mileage vs. ZF-5??????????????

I have an E4OD and never get over 16, usually 15 highway and I don't even check city, probably 11-12, but this stupid city is one of those drive 100yds, stop, drive 100yds, stop places. All I know is it beats the last gas truck I had a 1989 F350 460 that got 8-9 highway on a good day.
Also on the subject of RPMs on the E4OD vs the ZF-5, I've had both with stock tires and 4.10s and the RPM difference is significant, along the line of 200-300 RPM higher on the stick than the auto at 70 mph.
