Looking at picture #2, it looks like it is still on there. At the bottom of the ebpv housing there is a rod that goes to the back of the turbo,and it looks like it is still connected. When you remove the valve, the rod ends up getting disconnected and the guts removed as well, so the rod would have nothing to attach to on the bottom of the ebpv housing.
