Engine Oil stabilizer???

Hey ya'll.. I was wonderin, Do any of ya'll run the lucas engine oil stabilizer in your powerstrokes?? I have some and was thinkin about runnin some in my stroke but dont want to mess somethin up or create an oil leak that aint there.. I have run it in a chevy 454 motor and trans and it worked good.. But I ran the injector cleaner in my dodge cummins and the injector pump started leaking and I also ran the transmission stuff in it and it started leakin also.. Just wonderin if anyone has had any leaks pop up from using the lucas in there fords??? Thanks, TractorMike

I personally wouldn't put anything into the oil on these engines except for oil. If you change your oil and use a good diesel rated one you should not need anything else in it. Most additives are just snake oil getting you to spend your money on them with no additional benefits.

Only use the correct oil as specified by FORD /International . . . Lucas can cause injector issues due to foaming and improper viscosity and maby even permanent damage . . .

i used some of the synthetic lucas oil stabilizer my last oil change. i think that it is helping my truck run a little smoother at idle at least. i do 10,000 oil changes on dino oil and usually idles a little rougher near the 10,000 mark but haven't noticed that at all this oil change. i use oil between changes and i was hoping that it would help with that but it didn't seem to make a difference. also, just within the last week i had one instance that it wouldn't start on its own ( had to use starting fluid ) and cranked a little longer than normal a few times right around the same time. i'm not sure yet if it's related to the lucas or not. i've been hanging around the bitog site and heard a lot of good things about this auto-rx product that supposed clean your engine out real good along with provide some friction modifier additives to help reduce wear and i've been thinking about using some of that on my next oil change.

if you pumped the oil out of your hpop reservoir and pulled the valve covers and pulled the oil rail plugs, that would help get an extra 3 qts of oil out.

The only recommended additive i am aware of is Fleetrite CH1824392 or Lubrizol 888. These are antifoaming agents.

I've been running the Hotshots product in the 05 with great results. I'm going to try it in the 97 next oil change. Allot of folks consider it snake oil. But I am impressed with it.

I drained the top end oil, and put in some Prolong like was suggested. It runs much smoother now and not near as noisy either. I think the longer I run it the better it is getting finally.

I did the same not to long ago. Made a big difference. Many don't think it's necessary and are really down on the HPOP flush. Made me a believer.

What about Additives? Scroll down for engine oil results.

For Ford Power strokes, specifically, Lucas recommends one quart of the pure synthetic additive. Could that be a variable in the controlled test?
