engine oil way over full

Got a 1997 F350 7.3 . I checked the engine oil level and it way over full all the sudden and kinda clear looking. No noticable smell. I can't think what it would be besides fuel. Any ideas of what it is and how it got there. Thanks.

Re: engine oil way over full

Check this out.
I would stop driving it. If it's milky then it could be water contamination. But it could be fuel. Check your fuel filter housing. Pull the filter and if the fuel is dark brown in there then you have oil in your fuel and fuel in your oil. Likely caused by bad injector o-rings. But read that post before you drive much more.

I'm in Lathrop Mo. "Former mule capital of the world"
I think you're the first to admit to knowing what a gomerbull is.

Re: engine oil way over full

Now that I know what a Gomer Bull is, I'll just refer to ya' as GB!

Welcome aboard!

Sound very much like the classic injector o-ring failure... as stated above, checking the fuel filter for dark fuel is another indicator...

God Bless,

TC

Re: engine oil way over full

You may want to also check the fuel lift pump behind the fuel filter, if the diaphram ruptures it will pump fuel into the block

Re: engine oil way over full

Fuel filter is full of oil to. Does that rule out the lift pump? Or could a faulty lift pump sent oil to the fuel filter as well as fuel to the block.
Thanks,

GB

Re: engine oil way over full

No the lift pump should not do both. Time for injector o-rings.
