Engine rotation direction?

Just wondering what direction the harmonic balancer turns if you are facing the engine? I have to turn it over by hand to evacuate the cylinders before reinstalling my injectors tomorrow. Can't wait to get this baby running again.

I rotate it clockwise (wrench on the balancer bolt). I also do it with the injectors installed but glowplugs out (after using a MightyVac to get most of it out first). I will then place the valvecovers in position and spin it with the starter. Then I replace the GP's, harnesses, etc. I'm not sure that if you roatated it by hand with injectors out if you would push additional oil and fuel into the rails (which may then drain back into the cylinders). Cheers!

Thanks guys, spinning it over with the starter and GP's removed worked great. I just placed the VC's on to catch the oil that came out and there was no mess to clean up at all.
