On the Fence with my truck

I'm thinking it might be time to get a new truck. I've got multiple rust issues on the cab, front fenders, and bed panels. I need to pull the bed to fix rotten crossmembers on it. Also, she is smoking quite a bit now. Way more than the past. I use probably about 2-3 quarts of oil every 3-4k miles between changes. Power doesn't seem off at all though. I have also noticed the end of my tail pipe looks almost wet. Is it possible that it is unburnt fuel coming out and showing at the end of the tail pipe? Also tired of the truck beating me to death with its ride. On the other side, can't afford a new truck, this one is fine for my needs at the moment. It might go another 60k fine so what am I worrying about? Any thoughts?

I dont think the wet tailpipe is unburnt fuel, it would be smoking (white) heavily if your engine was allowing that much fuel by. Leaking ring in the turbo will let oil straight through the exhaust which may explain the oil consumption you talk about. Have you checked compression? If the odometer is accurate in your sig (242k) your engine still has life (pending compression check results of course). I just repowered my truck, $4300for a long block....alot cheaper than a new truck!
