Ford alternator part number

I have a 1996 PS, 4 wd, F250, sc. Am considering an ambulance take-off alternator on e-bay. I found a 4C3T-AA (ford pn) for $68 + $16.
It sure looks like the one in my truck but I want to be sure before I order it. When I priced the alternator at the ford dealer I was given F6UZ-10346-VARM1 as a part number. Am confused. Will the 4C3T-AA work on my truck? It's 110 amp rather than 130 amp. Concerns? Thanks for the help. jms

Re: Ford alternator part number

I don't think you want to go smaller on amperage. The glow plugs work the 130 amp alternator pretty hard.

Re: Ford alternator part number

If its 110amp it is probably for a super duty and uses differant plugs.

Re: Ford alternator part number

I agree, you don't want to go smaller...larger is fine, but not smaller! I thought the Ambulance was 200 Amp, like THIS one?

There was a post recently where a member put one of these on his early Powerstroke, and he explained a few things that had to be done? Anyone have that post saved?
I think it may just have been a wiring issue...can't remember now.

Then, there is always the 240 Amp unit like HERE .

Re: Ford alternator part number

I looked at the back of the alternator closer and discovered the plugs are different. Plus I noticed a reference to 6.0 PS that I had missed when I read the ebay description earlier. It makes sense these alternators are coming off new 6.0 PS's and thus wouldn't fit my older PS. I think I will pass on rewiring it since it is only 110 amp. I found a new 130 amp at Auto Zone for $190 before a core credit. Thanks for the help.
