Fuel bowl

I have a 1997 PSD and just tore out the fuel bowl and replaced all the O-Rings. I still have a leak and think it's coming from the lifter pump. I will replace that next. When I had the fuel bowl out, there is a brass fuel line that comes out of the front of the fuel bowl. This had no O-Rings and I was able to remove it. I was told that fuel line does not come out...... Ok so now what do I do? I put it back in and no leaks so far..... IDEAS????? I was told to JB Weld it and it's as good as new...

Lift pump is common to find leaking. Just replace the pump and o-rings since you are gonna be in there that deep. Good luck with the fuel nipple not leaking on the fuel bowl. You must have worked hard at getting that out.

As soon as I pulled the bowl it was loose and half way out. I then checked to see if it needed an O ring and stuck it back on the bowl.... It's not leaking as of right now. Do I JB weld it or buy a whole new bowl?????????

Does it slide in and out easily or was it friction fit? If it slides in and out easily you could try and slightly and I do mean slightly expand the end that fits into the bowl and tap it back in gently.

It had a friction fit and I was really careful with it.... I guess I will just leave it alone until it starts leaking. Thanks for the idea. I'm going to tackle the lifter pump tomorrow.. Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Make sure when you do the lift pump that once you get the lines disconnected , loosen the bolts and slowly turn the engine over with a socket and bar and watch for the lift pump to raise up. This will ensure that the poppet that drives the pump via the cam shaft will not fall into the engine.

On the bolt on the crank shaft or as some have done is to use the nut on the alternator. I personally have not tried the alternator nut trick but it apparently works. Just be careful if you do it that way as not to damage the alternator.
