Could someone please tell me where i can get a fuel pressure sensor. Sensor only. That isnt the injection control mod right? Everyone keeps quoting me 200 plus. I REALLY dont want to spend that kind of money. PLEASE HELP
Am i calling it the right thing? fuel pressure sensor?
any part # would be great!
On the fuel side of things, there are no fuel pressure sensors. There is the fuel restriction sensor (this will cause the fuel filter light to illuminate) and the Water-In-Fuel sensor (causes that light to illuminate). I'm assuming you're probably looking for the restriction sensor that on your truck screws into the fuel pressure regulator block on the bowl. So far I haven't heard of an aftermarket replacement, so you'll have to get it at the dealer for about $60. Most folks that replace their filters regularly just plug the port with a 1/8 NPT pipe plug. Cheers!
Well no lights are coming on. But, im pretty sure it is leaking fuel from the restriction sensor. It causes my truck to lose power and make a PPSSSSSS sound (air)? I replaced the fuel pump last week and it ran great for a few days, then it started doing this again. Same thing it was doing before. Would that sensor cause problems like this? Fuel in the valley again ect?
It should not cause any power issues ...at least mine did not . That noise could be a boost leak from one of the intake boots, or compressor outlet, Map sensor line , OR even the EBPV closing on you . As far as the leak goes , Mine started out as a drip , then it got worse and worse untill it was spraying fuel everywhere. PLUG IT ... If you change your fuel filter regularly you don't need it anyway ... a plug cost 50 cents .

Ok, cheap easy fix on the restriction sensor. I thought maybe the power loss and air noise was part of the fuel leak problem. Thats when it started. If i give it more pedal, the problem stops. it seems to happen between 1500-2000 rpm in low gears. Any ideas??
the sounds you describe are consistant with normal opperation of the exhaust back pressure valve.this is a restriction built at the outlet of the turbocharger, before the rest of the exhaust system, designed to hold more heat in the engine to increase warmup.some psd owners disable it by simply unpluging the wires on the turbo.others completely remove the device,or gut the ebpv.i unplugged mine this winter to improve mpg.went from16 to 18 by doing this and limiting warm ups. when the voltage rises signaling glowplugs being turned off i put it in drive and idle on down the driveway.
okay i bought a 1/8 and 1/4 inch brass plug. do i need to put something on the threads? It shouldnt be too tough huh? Also, does it hurt to unplug the ebpv? I understand the function, but will the truck not get as warm as it should when its cold and run bad? These things dont do so great when its cold anyway? Im in missouri and it gets pretty cold.
Well i had a buddy of mine who is laid off put a new fuel pump and hoses on because it was leaking from the weep hole. Then i found another leak a few days later and he says it is leaking from the fuel restriction sensor so im gonna plug it i guess. Should i use pipe dope or something on the threads?
