hard start warm or cold no power rough idle

ok truck is a 1995 f 250 7.3 just started having trouble out of it. like i said first it has a hard start problem weather its hot or cold. then has a rought idle when i press the gas slowly around 800 to 1100 rpms it shakes a little bit. when driving down the road i can hold it to the floor and never make it past 60 mph it will cut out miss a little but just before anybody points the wrong finger i just rebuilt the injectors put bigger ones in. um it has new glow plugs and glow plug relay and the wiring harness thats under the valve covers are hooked up and as far as i know working right idk what it could be i'm leaning towards the icp or ipr but idk. i let the truck sit about a week when i changed the injectors out then when i finally got it started again this problem started any help at all would be a great help thanks for any help i just need a starting point

I don't know if it would help, but maybe you could check the fuel presure at the schrader valve with a tire gauge, i think your supose to have around forty pounds or so but not sure.

yea, i just try to rule out the inexpensive things first, so i guess toss in a cam position sensor, it's not that hard and only about 25 bucks

thats what i was gonna do later this week put a cam sensor and icp sensor in its not popping up any trouble codes but that dont mean there not working right i bought this truck about 6 months ago and this is the first trouble its gave me its got 190,000 miles on it now and when i got it i know they had 3 cam sensors in the glove box so it sounds like this truck has a bad history with cam sensors

Since it sounds like the classical VC wiring harness problem, I've got a couple of questions:

You said it was running correctly before you installed the new injectors, glow plugs/relay,and VC wiring. Did you replace the connector outside of the VC gasket?

I can't tell from your description if the truck ran well after the injectors were installed, but a week later they didn't, or if the truck never ran correctly after the mods.

If the truck ran correctly after the mods, then developed problems, I think you're on the right path. If it never ran correctly after the mods, I think you need to go back and check the wiring harness again, and especially the pigtail connectors outside of the VC.

Michael
