Headlamp lens

Has anyone replaced their headlamp lens with the aftermarket OEM style lens? If so are they as thick a plastic as the factory ones? I replaced my lens 3 years ago with the Clear lens the Diamond type and one got a crack in it and is oxidizing already. The oxidation seems to go real deep as it's not cleaning up like my factory ones did. These clear lens seemed thinner right from the start but I thought I'd give them a try. I'm thinking about going back to the factory lens but if the aftermarket OEM are as heavy a plastic I'd go that route. I myself prefer the vision of the factory lens I find I like the light pattern better. Old age...
Thank you for any help.
Alan

Yes
No
So did I three years ago and one leaks when it rains and a lot of condensation forms inside. I still prefer the diamond clear lenses over the stock ones. Silver Stars help too.

Re: Headlamp lens

I've been able to fend off the yellowing and oxidation with an occasional waxing or, on my old tbird, I used rubbing compound and a wheel, and they cleaned up amazingly well.

I think it's tough to beat OEM, I installed a set off ebay in a '95 I sold, and the quality was not up to OEM by any stretch.

Re: Headlamp lens

On my factory lens they cleaned up real good. My wife got me these clear lens for a gift and I prefer the looks of them but I feel like I had better vision with the factory lens and these aren't cleaning up nice like my factory lens did.

I'm glad to find out about the condensation build up on the aftermarket lens.
