Heater blower speed switch

Started truck and fan was on high turned it to low but no change anymore in speed, where to start? Pull switch out? Does the cover come off or?

whats it do, just work in hi speed position, if so you need a reostate (sp) I had to have on replaced on a dodge car, would only run on hi.

Sorry, should have been clearer. Every position is Hi-speed, so more like it's not changing the reo. Haven't had those switches out so don't know what they look like.

Does anyone know if the switches come out the front if you can/do pop the trim cover off?

I'm not sure on our trucks but on an 84 that I had the actual speed control was mounted to the blower housing on the firewall. It consisted of restive wire that would control the speeds of the fan. I tore the dash apart on that truck trying to find out where the speed control was to find it there. So if you can find where the power line goes into the blower motor there should be a screw or small bolt holding it in that you can remove and check it out. Hope that this helps, like I said that was for a 1984 truck. <ul type="square"> Jim[/list]
