I redid my HPOP gaskets.So the fuel bowl and hpop were emptied. Filled the hpop and the bowl is getting fuel. I had the whole valley out so how much cranking bfore I need to reexamine everythin? Tate

It really depends...I did my fuel pump the other day and in doing so had to disconnect my HPX line (Decent amount of oil leaked out of the rails in the process...It took a good 5-20 seconds blasts to get it running...first time is fired up it ran rough then died...after that it started up again and ran rough...I set the idle controller @ 1200 and let it run for about 10 minutes then went for a 30 minute drive and she smoothed right out.
I think I have cranked enough to fill up and stuff...It cranks good just does not pop off. Any obvious points(electrical) to reference around the valley? Thanks Tate

may have to crack the fuel rail plug at the end of the head and oil plug on oil rail while cranking to push out air.

If after all the cranking the hpop is still full does that mean something is not telling it to pump out? the ipr is plugged in.Excuse my ignorance but what tells the hpop to pump electrical or mechanical?Tate

A few guys have had a problem getting the gear on right and it turned out is was slipping on the hpop. If you have a gauge I would see if you are building HP oil.

Use the refill hole and drop a gauge on that threading?
What is a good pressure to hope for?
As far a slipping do I just need to remove it and make sure everything is lined up?

No, it means fabbing up a gauge to go in the oil galley on the head like where the stock HP oil lines go into. Need a 500psi liquid filled gauge, a length of 1/4 inch hydraulic hose and fittings to adapt to a -5 o ring boss port. You need I think it is 500psi min to fire the injectors. A good hose shop will have everything you need and it is nice tool to have to diagnosis. I can ship you mine if you need me to.
