Injector Cup Removal Kit (JLerch) - Who has it?
I have been having the problem with diesel finding its way into my cooling system and JoshR, Action, Pat and Believer helped me out with what the problem is and also let me know about a kit made by member JLerch that gets passed around to anyone who needs to use it:
"Do a search for member "JLerch" - Jim fabbed up a big tap with a slide hammer attachment to remove the old cups, and an installation tool, turned to fit the inside of the copper cups, so one can gently hammer home the new cups w/o damage. You'll need green Loctite, IIRC. Jim's kit was making the rounds among members here; I had it two winters ago. The kit was free, and you just pay to send it to the next guy; this is a very cool system, and I hope it's still in circulation and that no one has broken the chain... You might search my posts as well from fall '06 - winter '07, as I likely wrote about all the fun I had replacing the cups. "
I would like to get ahold of this kit because the alternative to me being able to remove the cups and replace them with this kit is to have my mechanic pull the heads and rework them entirely for about $2-3K...great. If anyone out there has this kit, PLEASE let me know and I'll pay for shipping.
Thanks!
Dan
