Key Off - Turn Signals still have power

'97 OBS F250 ext cab long bed w/ 107k miles

With the key off the turn signals still have power. You can flash either the left or right and the dash dirction indicator will flash along with the actual light on the front and rear of the truck.

Nothing else on the dash, radio, HVAC fan seem to have power with the key off. The Hazards obviously work with the key off as designed.

Is this normal?

No that is not normal. You have a short in the multi position switch on the column. It is shorting over between the turn signal switch and the hazard switch.

That is what I thought but have a receipt for a new one just a year ago. Maybe the new one never made it on the truck....I'll replace it.
