keyless entry questions

I found a few nights ago that I have the factory keyless entry module. I think. it is under the dash, to the right. It has three large wiring harnesses going to it. lots of wires too. It says ford keyless entry module or something like that. I got a key fob off ebay supposidly for the 94-97 ford trucks and explorers.

Ive been cycling the key 8 times, ive tried everything from 2 to 18 with no avail.
I cant seem to get it to give the confirmation "lock and unlock" function. All my fuses are good, and the door locks work with the door buttons. I dont know where to look.

I've never had to do this but I hope it helps you out.

Note: All keyless entry remote transmitters must be programmed at the same time.

To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the RAP module, perform the following steps:

Make sure that the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered.
Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN five times within ten seconds, ending in RUN . If the RAP module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
Press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed.
If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Diagnosis and Testing in this section.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to five minutes after step 2, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the RAP module will lock and unlock all doors one last time to confirm.

I tried all of the above and no luck. Have a friend in parts dept local ford dealer. He sent one of the guys out with a short jumper wire they had to jump 2 terminals under dash on left side of column could not see which 2 but works fine. Gave him 10 bucks for tip. Both of us happy as shizz. Just my .02

Another idea popped into my head.

Is there any way to make a keypad work with my truck? I know some of them are just stick on and are wireless. Can I get one on the same frequency and get it to work??
