Little 2 Prong Plug on the fuel bowl-Where does it go?

I just replaced the fuel pump and fixed a fuel bowl leak.

Now I have it back together except the small 2 prong wire harness on the fuel bowl. I can't find where to snap it.

Where on the engine does that plug into?

Also, how long should I expect to crank before this thing starts?

thanks!
Nick

Found the plug but what is it???

Well, here's the plug. Thankfully I took lots of pics while the bowl was out.

Anyways, I'll go plug it back in but what is this? And is that big round thing the High Pressure Oil Pump?

Is there any routine maintence for the HPOP? It seems like I've seen someone saying to check the oil level. I have no idea how to do that.
thanks!
Nick

The plug would most likely be the one for the IPR (just to the left of the round thing (HPOP). Many folks forget to plug it back in (resulting in a no start). You shouldn't need to check the oil in the HPOP reservoir (the rectangular box-thing on the top front of the motor). Remove the plug on top to check the level. It is filled by the lube oil pump using engine oil. Some guys like to change it, but it's not really necessary either. Cheers!

Further update... unless it's coincidence I believe that little wire is required for the engine to run. I couldn't get it to start. I plugged it in and it started instantly. Interesting.

Wow! So if that one plug gets a bad connection or the wire starts going south... any of us could have a no start mystery that we could spend weeks chasing down!

How many electrical connections like this are there on the Powerstroke?

So far I know of three now:
1. Camshaft Position Sensor
2. Injector Harness (Under Valve Cover Harness)
3. Now the Injection Pressure Regulator

Would a check engine code let me know which thing is unplugged on my van (95 Powerstroke Diesel)?

And... Lastly, what does the connection from the Fuel Bowl to the Injection Pressure Regulator do?

thanks!!

Ok, to answer my own question and if anyone else wanted to have more of an understanding... here is this:
ECSD - Injection Pressure Regulator (IPR) - 1994-1997 Power Stroke FAQ

From this site even. This shows all the sensors (inputs) and outputs to and from the PCM on a 94-97 Powerstroke Diesel.

I'm guessing if any of these aren't working or plugged in correctly the engine will either not run right or not run at all. Also, I'm guessing the PCM will know about it and tell us with a code. That I do not know for sure.

That's a VERY good link with good diagrams for those who didn't know about it.

Also, Diesel Care and Performance has a good link here:
Powerstroke

This has good explanations for these same things.
