longer starting time

after diconnecting both batteries to check for the defective battery and then replacing with a new battery, the truck seems to take longer to start. the batteries were left disconnected for about 2 hrs. the starter turns the engine over just fine. it will start after 6-10 revolutions(1 turn of the key). not normal with this truck. this machine used to fire right up. it seems like it's not getting fuel? recently installed a new lift pump, complete fuel housing assembly(minus fuel heater element), a new injector control module(dealer install) and 1,016 miles on oil change(rotella 15w40). do y'all think that the short loss of power affected the computer? thanks for any help.

Re: longer starting time

Did you replace both batteries or just one? A weak battery will give you a symtom much like you discribed also when batteries start to go constant long turn overs will wear an old starter down fast. You have to have two real good batteries and a pretty fresh starter to get back to one to two cranks for a quick startup. Also could be fuel related check your fuel pressure at the shrader valve with a tire gauge just to the side of the fuel pressure regulator should be about 50+ lbs. at idle. Re: longer starting time

replaced 1 batt., passenger side which was still an oem battery. drivers side was replaced 1.5 yrs ago. long and over accessive starts were avoided when battery was weak. starter spins engine over really fast. no drag. just seems like it takes the fuel to enter the combustion chamber later(?) it starts up at the point were you would release the key, to avoid a long accessive start (3-5 seconds)
