looking for old seat rebuild posts

Hey guys,

I need a hand again, I got the old 40/20/40 seat all apart on the drivers side for fresh foam & new cover & had a few questions that I know were answered in the old posts a few months back such as the sheet of plastic material or plywood some put above the metal wire supports across the bottom & I also had a couple questions about the hogrings that are right in the middle of the seat.

Any help to links from the past would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Re: looking for old seat rebuild posts

I'd appreciate these too, the '97 I just picked up has a pretty beat up drivers portion of the 40/20/40.... I currently have 2002 seats in my '88 I'm getting ready to sell, and was considering putting them onto the '97 tracks if I can figure out how.... need to keep access to the extended cab.

Re: looking for old seat rebuild posts

I had this saved in my favorites... It is a "how to" series of pictures posted by a member named Diesel Goober. It may not be what you're looking for, but it is a start.

Re: looking for old seat rebuild posts

Thanks! I didnt know Jimmie had done this.

I went ahead & got it together without the plastic or sheetboard. From the pics I saw where he drilled new holes for the springs & moved them a bit due to wear - I may have to do that also as mine were wore quite a bit also.

Other than making a slice for the lumbar air line & a slice for the lone side bolt (I hate cutting into something new) - it went very smooth/easy & really helped the ride out - It actually has some side support now

Cheers

Re: looking for old seat rebuild posts

I believe it was Bigbopper who started this, and many have done it since! You could PM him, or perhaps he may see this post and let you know all the "tips" at getting it done Brian.

I sat in his truck a couple weeks ago, and it sure does make it feel like "new" again!
