LS rear end fading away?

HI All, it there a way (cheap or free) to tighten up and get more out of the limited slip rear end on our 4x4 trucks? Every time any service is done on mine that involves new diff fluid plus friction modifier it seems to have less bite??????????has 300K Km too. just wondered if going with only one unit of friction modifier might give the clutches more bite?

You can buy a rebuild kit from Ford that gives new friction plates and Bellville washers (cupped washers that provide preload). I rebuilt mine but these things never really work very good. Next truck I'm doing lockers.

If it's that loose, try going without the friction modifier. The main purpose of that stuff is to eliminate the chatter associated with a tight clutch pack. Once they get some miles on them, there is not as much need for it, as long as you still use decent gear lube.
