Did some maintenance items today:
- Changed oil and installed a Fumoto drain valve. The place I get parts had one cut open and it looks pretty robust inside. Ball valve with teflon seal. Should make oil changes all but tool-less.
- Shimmed the FPR and had a heart sinking moment. Bought a 3/16 ball bearing from the local hardware store, put it in and then tried the spring. The spring was now WAY too long. Hmmm. Tried getting the bearing out. No dice. Then I remembered something about pushing the ball in with a driver. Pulled the thing the ball goes into out of the regulator and gently tapped it down all the way. *whew* problem solved.
- Since I was in that far, I cleaned the regulator screen. Quite suprised how much goo was on it.
- Also changed the transfer case fluid to AmsOil synthetic. I want to to the front and rear diff's but may have to put it off until we are back from vacation.
- The trans is getting done at BTS, so it'll hopefully live another 4000 miles until I get there!
- Flushed the radiator coolant and refilled with the Cat Extended Life stuff.
Tomorrow's list: install SD trans cooler
