Marvel Mystery oil ??

I tried the search function, but no results.

So, now that I can't find the Diesel Kleen Power Service at Walmart due to the 2007 emmisions, can I use Marvel Mystery instead? What would be the recommended dose to add to a tank of fuel to get at least the minimal proper effect of lube for the pump and injectors?

Re: Marvel Mystery oil ??

Might consider Lucas Fuel Suppliment, works on both gas and diesel.

0 Oz.

Regular diesel fuel as it comes out of the pump has EVERYTHING in it you need.

Re: Marvel Mystery oil ??

The fact that they call it "Mystery" oil is your first clue. Just stick with diesel fuel, ignition key, and right foot.

Re: Marvel Mystery oil ??

I was under the understanding that Walmart pulled the Power Service off the shelf due to the upcoming 2007 Emissions requirements for the new Diesels in 2007. Something about it not being emission compliant or something? Kinda stupid if that is the case, as they still sell lead additive for older motors, and would kill the emmisions test on a newer car just the same.

I have not found a local distributor for Stanadyne stuff, so I was going to try MMO, as it says it lubes the HPoil pump, and injectors. Are ya saying that this won't do anything for me?

Re: Marvel Mystery oil ??

There was a post on this subject several days ago. It was pulled due to a relabeling for the new engine spec's. If I remember it correctly one member said that "they said by June 06 all would be in stock".

Re: Marvel Mystery oil ??

Excellent! I will take back the 2 gallons of MMO I just bought and trade it for the Power Service. I have to go back to Walmart anyways to get a few cases of Rotella T (gallon). They only had the gallon jugs individually and that seemed a bit more spendy per.

Got a nice long road trip from Oreegun to N'brasky for a big Truck Camper Rally. Then up through S-Dakota, over through Wyom'n, up to Montana, and down to Yellerstone. Then up to Coeur d'Alene Idaho through Spokane, and back down to Oreegun.

Should be a hoot!

Re: Marvel Mystery oil ??

I'd never use Marvel Mystery Oil because it's dyed red as is off-road #2. I'd hate to be dipped and have to do a lot of un-necessary explaining. Since I'm using ASTM B-100, the new reformulated fuel is a non issue for me.

Yes... that is EXACT ALLY what I am saying. While those supplements DO actually add a lube agent, regular diesel fuel already has it. Back a LONG time ago, some fuels were refined different & you had to add things to them depending on what you used them for. Today ANY fuel you get out of a pump at a service station will have EVERYTHING you need to run todays engines. Thats why Ford recommends you DON'T use additives.
