Need part # for fuel heater thermostat

Could not find my fuel leak in the valley area. Installed a fuel filter bowl seal kit and started up the truck, it still leaked. I removed the Fuel Filter Bowl again and pressurized the bowl and found the leak was coming out of the wire for the heater thermostat. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find the thermostat. Is it part of the harness? Am I calling it the right name? Anyone have an idea????????

Thanks

There is no thermostat for the fuel heater. Is it leaking where the wire passes through or the fuel restricted sensor? Or even the water in fuel sensor on the bottom of the bowl?

Not sure what you'd call it but it is in the middle of the fuel bowl and has a spade that the heater wire inside hooks to. There is a wire in the middle and that is where the fuel is coming from. It looks like a sensor of some sort? If I remove the lower sensor then I spin the hold down and it comes out. I did change the o ring but it still leaks from the middle?

Here is the item that is leaking. It is leaking internally. Do I have to go to the dealer to get it and what's it called??

I would have no idea of what it would be called either. But I doubt that the dealer would have one unless they have a old filter housing laying around to get one off of. The sell the filter housing as a whole assembly and that would be part of it. You may want to check an International dealer and see what they say.

Here's the part number:

Fuel Heater Thermostat
(Ford) F4TZ-9J294-A

Dealers have it (not that cheap). I damaged one trying to unplug the stupid fuel heater connection (that's why I always advise to disconnect from inside the fuel bowl). Cheers!

That is listed as heater assembly-fuel/water at Powerstrokeshop.com. I wonder if it is the whole heater assembly from the element out or just what?

No, the heater element is a separate part number. This is just the "feedthru" assembly at the fuel bowl (external connector, internal connector, with an o-ring to seal it). It does somehow regulate the heater though. Cheers!
