Cool OD off switch not working

Greetings all, My OD on/off switch suddenly stopped working. It seems like my OD is still working I just can't turn it off. It was quite a nuisance while towing a trailer today up hills. Does anyone know if there is a fuse? Do the buttons go bad, I know they just pop out? Thanks for your help!!!

Buttons can go bad. Lost one off my shirt the other day. LOL

No, really switches fail. That's not to say this is your situation. Find the wires to it and test it. I'm to lazy right now to go look at a schema of the system. So your on your own there. But it should be fairly easy to find and test the switch. Worst case you can by pass it with your own switch.

Perhaps someone will have been here before and know the wires to check.

The wires to check are in the steering column where they enter the shifter handle. They wear through. Either fix the wires or get a new shifter handle for about $50.

Don't pull the steering wheel! You'll never get to the wires that way. Take the plastic cover off of the column.

i had an OD wire issue, the wires had been pinched where they went by the corner of the MFS block and one was broken inside the insulation. they are very small guage wires. i was able to do the micro solder repair, relocate the bundle so it was clear of future snags, been good for about 4 years now.
