P1298 Idm Fault

I keep getting this code P1298 IDM FAULT out of my Snap On scanner even after I clear it from memory it seems to alway come back.Any ideas?

Are you getting any other codes 1663 1667 ?

That code points to an internal IDM failure. Have you removed it yet to see if there is water inside it? You might try swapping IDM's with the other truck to see if the code follows the IDM or stays with the truck.

Naa I havent checked it yet or taken it out.I will try swapping it with my 97 and see if anything changes.Other than that code the truck runs like a champ except for the crappy fuel milage lately.Wonder if this code is an attributing factor?

The only other code that I get is IAT which I am almost positive because of the sensor on the airbox is unplugged.

Whatcha using for a scanner? AE always shows the IAT code on the OBS trucks.
