Pulled engine

Engine out !! also orded water pump fuel pump all hoses and new belt....

truck is red!!! what color should I paint the STROKER? RED---BLACK--OR--BLUE any susjestions for the "manifolds and up pipes" [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img] (I have factory GRAY high temp from EASTWOOD)

BLUE! I did mine when I built the motor and I used carb cleaner to prep the parts. The paint has seen over 20,000mi and pressure washing with no problems. I only painted the heads, valve covers (removed sticker), and oil pan as thats all you can see. One other small detail, I painted the valley white!

I pulled the engine because of rotted oil pan, brake lines, trany lines, ps lines, exh maninfolds, and in general when i opened the hood i was embarrassed, truck has 65k mi. I looked at a 2005 for replacing this truck, 58k by the time i'm done duplicating this one. Decided instead of buying new, to stick 5k into this truck. It only has 65k mi, runs great, and looks good. I'm just looking for suggestions on any other things i can do. Truck is a work truck. Did you gut your EBPV? What does this accomplish and how do you do it? Are there any benefits or downsides? By the way...Bought 5in stacks for the bed. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img]

Did you change the downpipe? If yes or are going to, yes gut the EBPV. This gets rid of the flapper that closes when the engine is cold. Supposed to aid in warm up. Cut it out and plug the hole from the shaft.

Isnt there a post on that? do I have to remove the exhaust back pressure sender. Well here is a update!!! oil pan and dipstick is on,new water pump done, turbo off,fuel filter off, fuel pump off, moter pressure washed I need to get the seals for the rear fuel lines and the blue ruber hoses for the fuel pump,also got new fuel lines from the filter back to the tank. had to cut the exhaust bolts off the up pipes they look like nuts and bolts if not they will be (stainless) I broke one bolt from the turbo to the y block at the top need to drill that out. If you had to bet would you think the exhaust manifold bolts were seezed in the manifolds or in the head,I'm thinking about trying to get them out to change them ? Seized in the maniofold. When you go back, use hi temp anti seize where the bolts go through the manifold.
Just un plug the sensor. You can put a dongole on it to feed the PCM the correct signal all the time. Cost about 30 bucks.
WHile gutting the EBPV you could also remove some of the metal, that thing is thick. I think I took off like 20-30k and then honed it out.

Not sure but it waseasy to do while it was off. Just took a dremel and cut some metal out, then used a small engine hone on a drill to smooth it out.
