RE: CEL and stall

hello again, and thank-you Gary for your reply. here's the scoop. i checked the icp connection and sure enough two of the three wires are bare and corroded. i used some e-tape to separate them and started the truck. started normally and ran at normal idle for about10 minutes. then it did the same thing as before. i then unplugged the connector from the ICP and it made no diff. so does that mean that the connector wasn't and still isn't making connection(on or off)or does it mean that the bare wires are coincidental to another problem?(such as the injector harness being toast) thanx, cavallo

Re: RE: CEL and stall

blackhorse,
If you unplug the ICP connection, you will get a CEL and the PCM will revert to predetermined defaults for pressure settings. If you have an auto tranny, the shifts will be extremely hard with the ICP disconnected. You can leave it disconnected long enough to see if this is the culprit. If it is disconnected and it still stumbles, I would explore the injector wiring harness.
