Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

Has anyone done the mod where you get the cup holders that go in the back seat and mount them in the middle seat up front? Baz's website has as section about how to install them, but I am confused Anyone have pictures of it, or know someone who has done it?

Re: Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

I recently did it on my truck. I couldn't find the studs to duplicate the ones on the back seat, and they wouldn't have lined up with a workable spot on the front seat anyway, so I merely measured and installed some large sheet metal screws into the metal seat frame. I left the heads and 3-4 threads protruding, and the cupholder snaps down into place around them.

Re: Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

Does anyone have a backseat cupholder that they don't want? Not trying to hijack the thread, but mine never had this and I can't find any around here.

I second the pictures... I've been wanting to do this mod for quite awhile.

Re: Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

I also did this on mine, Ill take some pics tonight and post it. What I did is get a strip of flat steel and ran between the open gap (ill show in the pis) Bolted the strip on, then I bought two of the studs from Ford and screwd them into the flat steel.

Re: Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

I was gonna do the same, and then saw one of those at Walmart that sit on the hump. You can get different shape & sizes. I went with the one that holds 2 drinks and other stuff..
That was easier, cheaper, and better for me.
Just a thought

Re: Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

I bought a new one on ebay for 12 bux. It just sits there all on it's own. I guess if I went rock climbing I may consider bolting it down.

Re: Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

Mrs. Quadzilla left town today, and took the digital camera with her, but I'll get some pics when she gets back tomorrow.
When I first bought my truck, it didn't have the cupholder in back, nor one in front. After Jimmie (Big_Fig) had his truck totalled, I talked him out of the one he had, for my back seat. I liked it enough, and saw Steve Baz's front seat cupholder, that I kept my eyes open on eBay, and got the one for the front for $10. Now there's a place for two drinks, and two cell phones, assuming Mrs. Quadzilla is with me.

Re: Rear Seat Cup Holders Up Front

Are those studs you used supposed to be used for securing the cupholder, or are they meant for something else?

Thanks!
