Rebuilt Transmission , Now Truck Will Not Start!!!!!!!!

Readers Digest Version: 1997 F250 Powerstroke 119,xxx Miles. Coverted To Run On Veggie Oil W/ Golden Fuel Systems Dual Tank Kit, Running 7,000 Miles Strong On Oil W/ No Problems.... Had A Local Cottman Transmission Shop Do A Complete And Heavy Duty Rebuild On Trans. (previous Trans Shifted Weird And Would Somtimes Go From 2nd To 4th Skipping 3rd.) I Picked Truck Up On Saturday And It Shifts Fine, But Doesent Have Good Pickup And Actually Loses Power (boggs) Going Up Hill. I Delt With This For The Weekend And Today Took It Back To The Shop, From Which The Trans Mechanic Said He Thinks The Turbo Or Somthing Is Bad And Its Not Spooling Up To Produce Power...... (worked Fine Before Rebuild) So Im Driving On The Way Home Today And I Loose Power From 70mph To A Dead Stop Where The Truck Dies. (all Most As If Air Was In The Fuel Lines) I Crank It And It Starts Back Up Rough. About 1 More Mile Down The Road It Does It Again And This Time Will Not Start, But Will Turn Over............ Completly Stumped....oil Pressure Was Fine At Start Up And Thru Drive Home. No Big Mods Except 4" Exhaust And Superchips Tuner. Truck Now Sits At Local International Stealership Waiting To Be Fixed. Please Help... Confused In Charleston

Aloha Mailman,
I am sure someone here will chime in with a lot more experience than I have but the last couple of things that I had to work on had some of your symptoms and here is what I was advised to do:
1. Change the CPS. Now since you have a 1997 your Ford Dealership should change yours out for free under the CPS recall. It is a good idea to pick up an extra on of these sensors as a spare and they now sell them for free. When this sensor goes it can leave you stranded.

2. Check your wire harness under your valve covers. Maybe one of them burned up or the gasket was compromised and it is now time to change them out. If you take off your oil fill cap and it has a burnt smell that tells you either burnt wires or the gasket going bad.

Again, I know others with much more experience than I will chime in for you. Good luck now.
Mahalo

X2 on the CPS. When you're cranking it over with no start are you getting fuel pressure at the schrader valve? Any white smoke from the pipe? As far as the turbo is concerned you could pull your intake and check the compressor side of your turbo for any damage as well as any play in the shaft. I would also maybe just give the whole eng compartment area a good once over for anything that might be loose or disconnected from when the trans shop was working in there. Also how's your oil level?

Have replaced the water pump, power steering pump & A/C compressor just prior to or via failure.
I roadrace a 125GP bike..haul it with a huge truck & a 20' 5500# trailer...whee!
It's looking better: replaced fender, front bumper & hood hinges.

I'm guessing he's in Charleston, WV,

but I'm confused, in the first post you say it sits at the dealership, but need a tow?

are you going to let them fix it or are you here asking for help to diagnose it yourself?
