So I just replaced the water pump and I'm still leaking under the pump and around the crank. I have absolutely NO IDEA where this is coming from. I'm sorry to be such a pain and creating so many threads but I'm completely at a loss here.
It's a pretty steady drip once the engine gets running. It takes about 10 seconds before it starts dripping once the engine is running. It really looks like it's coming from under the water pump and on top of the crank pulley.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! I need some answers!!! Anything!!!!

Reason: General posting rule 1
Go to napa and get a new thermostat housing and gasket, replace it and put some rtv on the new oring. I don't normally put rtv on anything, but the thermostat housings are a very persistent leak source, they are pot metal. I just replaced my pump, it was bad, was leaking profusely outta the weep hole, fixed that, but i have a trickle at times at the thermostat housing now, so I have to do the above mentioned when it warms up a bit. My leak is so small it evaporates before it hits the ground, but I can smell it, so it drives me nuts.

I did replace the t-stat housing as well. It did come with a gasket (the old one didn't have one) and I RTV'd the daylights out of it. It is still leaking just a tad from there and I'll deal with that later. However, that's not the source of this leak. This leak is much worse that what's leaking from the t-stat housing.

I have a small leak as well...seems to only pop up when im up in the mountains and its cold out. Its not the water pump as far as I can tell (I replaced the pump about a year ago). It appears to be coming from the front driver side corner of the motor, but up top somewhere...Its a VERY VERY small leak...i've never had to top it off, just bugs me. For the life of me I can not tell where it is coming from...not that its a huge help but thought maybe it sounded similar to your issue.
The first cold snap of zero degrees....my turd leaked a little from the lower rad hose...on the rad side. I thought my rad was cracked, but it wasn't. I stopped the next day when it warmed up a tad. I looked for cracks, etc. but couldn't find anything.
My money is on a pinched waterpump gasket. Dont ask me hw i know. $7.00 at kragen

I agree with the last guy, especially if it wasnt leaking from that spot with the old pump. My front engine cover is leaking where it meets the block near the top by the drivers side, and I am getting a small amount of coolant in the oil because of this. I am going to yank the motor this weekend.
If it gets worse when engine rpms go up I would look at the pump and or the gasket!!! Sounds like that is were leak should be. Let us know if you run into anymore problems.
Paul.
OK, so I found the culprit... It was a poorly welded BRAND NEW water neck!!! I took it back to Auto Zone and they replaced the neck and gave me 2 gallons of coolant for my troubles!!! I'm not a big fan of Auto Zone but they did make good on the problem.

Not really. If it's low silicate, it will state something like "Low Silicate Formula" or something along those lines right on the front of the bottle. You don't want to use antifreeze in a PSD that isn't low silicate.
