Re: retrieving engine codes without programmer??

You can get Code Readers from most auto parts stores (AutoZone, O'reilly's, etc..)They will generally loan them to you with a deposit.

If it is missing badly, then more than likely you have a bad injector harness. You might pull each plug for the injectors and look for burnt/melted pins. You can also pull the Valve Covers and check the wires in there too..

Good luck,

Re: retrieving engine codes without programmer??

depends on year! 94-96' code reader won't work. Some 97's it may work on. You need to find someone with a scanner.

Re: retrieving engine codes without programmer??

My 96 works with my alex pepper software just fine. It will also connect to a cheep scan tool, although they can't do to much for our ford enhanced trucks. You need to find a ford enhanced scan tool.

96' F350 4X4. E4OD tranny running Amsoil synthetic, 1 big tranny cooler and tricumulator springs and accumulator valve. Autometer guages, homemade intake, TS 6 position Chip (tuning by Diesel Innovations , Factory AIC, A/C mod, MBRP 4" Exaust, BDP Stage I injectors, Brakesmart trailer brake controller, T/C lockup switch
Soon to be installed: Innercooler (sittin at the shop), Big Oil, Built Tranny, Coolant Filter, HX hose, and some others. 350k miles.

Re: retrieving engine codes without programmer??

Yes, Your software is a scanner. But, the code readers don't have the Ford enhanced trouble codes.
