I have a 97 F250 7.3 5 speed tranny. Got a new puppy that lays under my truck usually and I saw a wire harness hanging down, and when I checked it she had chewed it in two, I have about 12" with 2 wires connected to the reverse light plug, and then hanging from the truck I have a harness with 4 wires. I have identified the P/O & B/P wires for the reverse lights, but can't figure out what the other two go to, the green one and the green/black one, anyone know?
It's hanging down right under the clutch and brake pedal, about 2ft long, from the frame, 4 wires in it, I know two go to the reverse switch on the trans, but can't figure out where the green and green/black wires go, she may have carried part of it away.
I'll check the EVTM when I get home later, but I'm getting an inkling those are the wires for the 4x4 indicator light switch. I'm pretty sure those and the reverse light wires run in the same loom in the 4x4 trucks.
I have identified the purple/orange & black/pink wires for the reverse lights, but can't figure out what the other two go to, the green one and the green/black stripe.
I did not find the green one or the green/black one on the diagram anywhere. All my lights work. I felt around on top of the tranny as best as I could for any plugs, but couldn't feel anything. Did they have any other connections on a ZF 5 speed besides the reverse light switch?
The only thing not working is the cruise and ABS light is on. Cruise & ABS used to work, this truck has set for 4yrs. Picked up an ABS sensor this evening. I followed the loom to it, but found nothing wrong, can they go bad just sitting?
Edit - per the EVTM, the 4x4 light wires are light blue and light blue with black stripe. Looking closer at your last pic, I think that's what those are.
They looked blueish to me also.
Probably why I could find much for grn and grn/blk. Lol
