Skipping, no power!!

My 96 PS was running perfect and had lots of power when I parked it, left it running in the driveway cause it was cold out. When I went to take off it wasn't running, tried to start and wouldn't fire, so I thought it ran out of fuel, that wasn't it either, so I changed the fuel filter and when I took it out I noticed that there wasn't much fuel in the housing so I changed the lift pump, that didn't fix it either, so I changed valve cover gaskets and harnesses. Now it will start but it skips bad and has no power, it would barely back out of my driveway and it took almost a mile to get to 40 mph with my foot to the floor. Could I have gotten a bad harness or gasket? Anybody with an idea?

have you checked fuel pressure at fuel bowl while idling? if its stock its should be anywhere from 35 psi to 70. usually closer to 35 until you give it throttle. i would also check the rubber hoses again on lift pump and fuel bowl to make sure air is not getting into the system
