Steering box adjustment??? - Diesel Forum

Hey guys, my 95 has developed a terrible vibration when I slow down. I think it is the tie rod ends or ball joints. Is there any adjustment on the steering gear box that might get me any more life? It's a 2WD.

Don't mess with the steering box till you get new tie rods or ball joints installed.If the steering box is not the problem you will damage the oil seal in the bottom.

ball joints in my truck JUST replaced again (2 times in 5 months) it was the shops fault...anyways, when mine were bad i didnt have vibration on decel.. i had it on the freeway at about 65 mph.

Is it only with your brakes on? Could be a warped rotor... if not, i would look at your balance and alignment as well. if you ball joints are toast, you alignment has probly gone to hell too.

Yeah if its vibrating when your on the brakes its the brakes not the front end. If the wheel shakes is the front rotors warped. If vibration is in the seat then its the rear drums out of round.

does anyone have a link to the steering box adjustment cause my buddies truck may need that.
