Tough time getting injector seated

I'm having a tough time getting the #7 injector seated completely. I have it seated far enough to start the hold down bolt, though. If I start the hold down bolt and then tighten it up, will it seat the injector at the same time?

Re: Tough time getting injector seated

There is a special tool for installing them. You should NEVER smack them with a hammer. That is a good way to mess up the solenoid on the top. The manual specificly states that in bold black letters. If you have no other way I would use a soft metal drift and tap down on the hold down to seat them. Also make sure you torque them to 120 In/Lbs. NOT Ft/lbs! If you don't the copper washer at the bottom can leak and cause more problems down the road.

Re: Tough time getting injector seated

Thanks, I got them all seated and torqued down now. I used the hold down to tap it down in. Never needed to hit it with a hammer. Everything is torqued to spec so all I need to do now is make sure it won't hydrolock.
