Transmission -- Torque converter question

Hi all
I have a slight leak of transmission fluid at the front seal or torque converter.
Is it worth pulling the trans to change the seal or should I change seal and converter. Worst case new trans and converter.
The trans has about 130k on it.
Thanks for your help.
Jay

Re: Transmission -- Torque converter question

what you did was overheat the fluid, it then leaks out the front seal, normally it will re-seal itself and be fine. Did you happen to bak a heavy load up a hill or do some 4x4 crawling in 1st ?, get yourself a big cooler , like a 4590 by tru-cool and change the fluid, it should be fine after that, until the TC needs to be changed out.

Re: Transmission -- Torque converter question

Nit,
Tanks for the reply, The fluid is good. I did warm it up a bit in 4 low this winter busting snow banks, but it was a slow drip prior to that as well. Its been leaking for about a year now. The leak is just enough to make a mess on the driveway.
