trucks completely stock. 5spd manual. i changed the fuel filter but didnt seem to help. but it just dont seem like it has the power. temp here is about -20 also could that be it? this is my first diesel ive had thru a winter.
must be the cold then? i can put it to the floor and it just crawls up to speed. before i could put the hammer down and it would dam near throw it sideways.
oh no, should not be that bad. winter just might make 4th feel like 5th gear feels in the summer, you might have some other issue.
give us some more details.......foot to the floor and still creeps? black smoke? white smoke, no smoke? all of a sudden takes off? is it warming up to proper temps on the guage? 0-60 used to be 10 seconds and now its 25?

no smoke. and yes thatd be a good way to put it on 0-60 and it hasnt really got much above the n on normal since i got it. i got it in late november tho so its been cold the hole time ive had it. i have a winter front on it. should i put some additional cardboard in front of the radiator?
No do not put cardboard ..you already have a winter front...Do you have a CAT ? could be plugged.... also what is your fuel pressure ? might be low ....Did you check the FPR screen ? it could be full of crap... What about the fuel filter? have you changed it ? Also when was the last time you checked the air filter ? It would be a good time to Upgrade the Intake ....Also get rid of the Stock POS downpipe......

no its a 1994 so no cat and also it doesnt have a muffler. just changed the fuel filter cuz thats what i thought it was and it also has a new air filter. whats the fpr screen?
It is a screen on the Fuel Pressure Regulator on the inside of the filterbowl...If it is clogged full of crap it reduces fuel flow.....Did you check your fuel pressure ?

i cleaned that screen it was very dirty also just noticed someone eliminated the fuel heater in the filter housing so ordered one of them also. it was a bit warmer this morning only about 10below truck seemed better but still if i put the throttle down after half throttle its like it didnt exist. had some pretty good pull up to half then just creeped after that..
