Turn signals not working, Need advice asap

My signals stopped working in my truck, however my fuse was fine and my 4-ways still work. Is there anything else that could be bad other than the switch? I would like to avoid buying a new one from Ford for an arm and a leg. Please let me know ASAP.

Thanks
Alan

It could be the wiring or the flasher or a bad ground, but there is a little lever inside that switch that can break and non engage the switch itself. I bet that's it.

If you need to replace the arm I would look at a Salvage / Junkyard first.

dont know if youve had the cruise control recall done or not, but when that baby lighst on fire it can do some funky stuff to your rear lights, happened on my old 150, only my right turn signal would work but only my left turn signal would work, its 20 bucks from ford for the part to do it yourself if you dont feel like sitting around all day, and its all of cutting 2 wires and crimping 2 new ones in place

Isn't the flasher for the turn signals separate than the flasher for the 4-ways?

There was no recal on the cruise control for the diesel trucks. It only applied to the gas ones.

Mine stopped working two years ago when I bought the truck. Before I looked into parts or real work i took some old rags and a can of WD and flooded the switch and clicked it 20 or so times to allow for penetration and cleaning... turn signals work perfect so far. Di-electric cleaner would do the same I suppose with less of an odor. Sometimes a bad hazard switch can interfere with the turn signals, I sprayed some in there at the same time so i dont know which fixed it or if all I did was spray the flasher switch... Hope it keeps you from buying parts

I took apart my MF switch a couple of years ago due to rear signal not working. the 4 -ways are part of the MF switch. it had gone all dry and "green" inside. i cleaned it and re lubed it. no problems since. it is somewhat tedious and there are some small parts that can jump out. if you are good at taking small things apart (like your lawnmower carb) no problem. if you are all thumbs... maybe pass on this one and get a new MF switch.

Yes the flashers for the 4-ways and the turn signals are separate. I would try replacing the turn signal flasher first, easy and cheap to do.
