weird cps problem

hi there, i'm new to this forums since i just got this truck, 95 f-350 7.3 TDI. here is my problem.
when i try to start it, if it is cold it will start with no problems and work and drive wonderfully, after 3-4 minutes it seems like the injection is cutting off, it starts to stall until it shuts off and wont start again until 1 hour or so, now the weird stuff.
after it shuts off, the tachometer starts to jump randomly and i hear a clicking sound coming from the valve cover area, like if the injectors were firing with the engine off. this happens until i turn the key off.
all the regular stuff has been checked, WTS light comes on, i have fuel (lots of it), oil pressure is coming out of the HPOP, fuses are ok.
all this leads me to think of a bad CPS (or about to go bad), since that random jump in the RPMs after i shut it off can ONLY be caused by the CPS.
thanks in advance and sorry for the long post
