2wd F-250 Leveling Kits?

This is my first post at DS. i must say you all have a heck of a site, tons of info for a guy to read! i have been reading this site for about 2 weeks nonstop to help me buy my first PSD.

i am looking at buying a 96 regcab 2wd 5speed F-250. it is a bare bones modle. it only had 116K on the ticker and the guy only wants a little over 6k for it. i think its a steal!

anyhow on to my question, do they make a 2wd leveling kit for these trucks? i have looked a little while and cant seem to find anythink for a 2wd... i am not a ford man at all i have owned 20+ jeeps and toyota but never a ford. will a f150 kit work?

Thanks

Chris.

Re: 2wd F-250 Leveling Kits?

First off, WELCOME. I have been here a bit over 6 years and figure this site has saved me an average of $1,000 a year or so in repair costs. Good to have you aboard.

Are you after lifting the front end or restoring the height lost when the springs sagged? Lift, I do not know. Restoring stock height so the tires do not angle in at the top a front air spring assist kit is what is recommended by the suspension shop I deal with for work (trucking company with a couple thousand tractors, 8,000 or so trailers).

yeah that might help! do you need onboard air? you do you just fill with a guage and test to see how they feel and adjust to your liking?

Re: 2wd F-250 Leveling Kits?

In practice they are a lot like air shocks but they do not put all the stress on the shock mounts like air shocks do. You can set them up to fill from any air compressor with schrader valve or valves like on your tires or you can add onboard air, even add leveling valves so they will automatically adjust as you load and unload the truck.

Re: 2wd F-250 Leveling Kits?

i am working with Camburg Engeneering in Huntington Beach CA on a kit right now. I have a 97 F-250 2wd extra cab PSD and am looking for the same thing.

the kit would be new coil springs, alignment cams and bilstein shocks.

it should allow you to retain factory camber and caster specs, fit 35" tires and cost under $500 for parts.
