2WD ZF5 to 4WD ZF5 Conversion?

I am making the 96 PSD in my sig into a 4x4. I found the donor vehicle.
1992 F-350, SRW, 7.3 liter diesel, with a zf-5 tranny. The transmission has some serious noise.

Will the main shaft from the 1992 ZF5 4x4 transmission fit my 1996 2x4 ZF5 transmission?
If not does anyone know of a source to purchase the main shaft for my 2WD ZF5?

Found it in another post by skeen450:

I can answer the 5 speed question, as I looked into a similiar setup myself.

The zf5 manual trans will have to have a new main shaft and a new tail housing. Both cost close to 300 bucks. Then the labor to pull the entire trans apart to install. I was quoted about 600 bucks for a shop to do it.

This place has the parts, just look thru it for what you need.

After you got that done, the transfer case from the auto will bolt right up.

95 PSD crew cab LWB 5 speed 276k miles
