3" Downpipe

Got my 3" diamond eye down pipe in for my 97 f350. can anyone tell me how much of a headache im gonna have. they said my have to bend lip 1/2", but my lip is covered with a heat shield pan.
Do you need to remove this pan or leave it in and pray?
Thanks

I trimmed the firewall lip right thru the heat shield pan with a sawz-all. Squish it up with a porta-power. Make PLENTY of room; its a bugger if its a bit too tight and you have to go back and do it again!!

I used a old school digging bar. Put it on the head and bent away. Mine seemed to have more room than others, but maybe that bar did a better job than I thought?

Go more than you think you have to.

Like chris u said, but don't let the heat shield touch the dp. mine was touching and it was loud inside the cab, I cut all the loose shielding out from the cutting and prying and then I put heat wrap on the dp. A good pry bar and a block of wood does wonders to bend the pinch weld.
