3" MBRP downpipe

Just installed my downpipe on my 97 and I got the two pieces in snugly. I started up the truck had no leaks, but every once in awhile especially when I slow down, the pipe rattles. I think its rattling against my exhaust coming up to turbo. I have flattened the pinch weld against the floor board, so I dont know what to do to get anymore room or to get the rattle to stop! Any help would be great Thanks!

You need absolutly more room, so desintall the DP and use a porta-power with the duck part and make more room. thats it.

Your downpipe was two pieces? I just put and MBRP in recently and it was one piece down pipe. The next piece had about an 8" section of 3" pipe that was welded to the part where it flares to 4". I'm not very happy with the fit of mine, I don't have any rubbing issues in the firewall area but it hit on my tranny crossmemeber. I can't rotate the downpipe any more cause then it will be hitting the tranny?

Only one piece?, most if not all of the aftermarket DP are two pieces since 10 years ago (more o less). Did you buy it direct to the MBRP dealer or to some other people and it was modified?

Turns out the pipe is not hitting the firewall, it is hitting the up pipe. So not sure how to make more room for that.

now I dont know what to do to make room between the DP and de UP, sorry. Maybe if you hit with a hammer a little in the DP in the part that both has contact, just thinking in loud voice.
